Who has custody of my assets?

Our client’s assets are held at a low cost, third party brokerage firm (e.g. BNY Pershing as custodian) and thus, clients will continue to receive monthly account statements from the custodian. Clients will receive quarterly account statements from Bluemont Capital Advisors, LLC as well as an annual performance report and review.

How is Bluemont compensated?

Our fee structure is based on a percentage of assets under management and all fees are fully disclosed upfront. We do not receive any compensation from any of the products or providers that we use in the allocation of your assets.

Do you have a portfolio minimum?

While we do not have a portfolio minimum we do have a minimum fee of $7500 annually.

Can Bluemont manage my Trust account?

Bluemont can manage the assets in your trust. We will work directly with Trustee, your attorney and CPA to provide an investment policy and portfolio that meets the needs of the beneficiary or beneficiaries. BNY Pershing and their partners (Charles Schwab) provide both a brokerage and bank capability for custody of your trust.

What is Bluemont’s Investment Philosophy?

Bluemont Capital Advisors, LLC concentrates on helping clients meet their financial goals by achieving solid long term investment results along with prudent risk reduction. This is achieved by using a highly diversified, global, multi-asset class strategy based upon Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT).

What types of investments will be in my portfolio?

The portfolios incorporate equities (both US and International), fixed income (both US and International), real estate, and alternative investments. As an independent advisor, we have access to a variety of investment vehicles, and as such we use a mix of individual securities, ETFs, mutual funds and when appropriate, private placements.

Will you evaluate my estate plan?

While we will evaluate your current investments, discuss your desired legacy and wishes for your family and philanthropy. All legal documents should be reviewed by appropriate counsel and we can provide recommendations for such as needed.

Can you recommend estate planning attorneys?

We work closely with numerous prominent estate planning attorneys and would work with you to find one that best fits your needs if you desire.

Communication

How often can I expect to hear from you?

We meet with our clients as often as needed to insure that they are comfortable with the state of their portfolio or to discuss life changes that may require us to take a different view of their risk and return needs. We meet with our clients at least annually and send out periodic updates every 4-8 weeks on what we see as important factors that may affect global economics and the investments in our client portfolios.

What types of reports will I receive?

You will receive all trade confirmations and monthly account statements directly from the account custodian. You will receive account holding and performance reports from Bluemont.
